As a member state of the Commonwealth of Nations and a backyard garden of Australia and New Zealand, Vanuatu is located to the southwest of the Pacific Ocean, and adjacent to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, etc.. It has been selected as the Happiest Land on the Earth by an international organization for four times. Those holding a national passport of Vanuatu can transit more than 120 countries without visa, and it is also much easier for them to apply for visa and immigration of Australia and New Zealand. On December 19 2016, the Republic of Vanuatu officially legislated and passed the 2016 No. 220 Citizenship Regulations (Contribution Program) pursuant to Article 13D of Chapter 112 of the Citizenship Act, where stipulates implementing regulations of the Contribution Program. In detail, the Contribution Program is aimed at raising funds and attracting and absorbing high quality immigrants, so as to facilitate economic development of Vanuatu. Moreover, nationalization application requirements are explicitly provided in the Act. Therefore, an applicant up to contribution requirements can, together with its spouse, two underage children, 18-25 years old children in school, and parents above 50 years old is allowed to submit an application for naturalization.
